Every year on Halloween I am either single or with a guy who is anti-couple costumes, and every year I want to dress up in a stupid couple costume. As I complained to myself this year about the unfairness, I could feel my 100 pound Chocolate Lab sit right on top of my feet, which I could barely lift out from under him, and then it hit me.
Buddy (my chocolate lab) would do anything to make me happy so why not dress him up as my other half. I mean, honestly, I couldnt find a more complacent date, and Im not alone.
According to an NRF survey 7.9 percent of people will dress there furry friends up this Halloween. Americans are projected to spend $2.6 billion on Halloween costumes with $330 million of that being on their pets costumes.
I was a bit disappointed when I read that the most popular doggie Halloween costumes are:
2. Hot dog
3. (T) Cat
3. (T) Devil
7. Bowties/fancy collar
9. (T) Batman
9. (T) Vampire
These are so generic. While I bet all of the dogs will make them look adorable, here is a list of creative dog costumes to get you inspired this Halloween.
Think your dog’s costume can top these? Take a photo of your dog in his/her Halloween costume. Submit it to our Facebook contest, and get your friends to vote for you. The photo with the most likes by Halloween will get a $50 gift card to Salon Bark. Submit your photos here: http://woobox.com/fh4onr.
