What are the busiest days to shop this holiday season?

blogpost

Do you procrastinate when it comes to holiday shopping or are you out the day after Thanksgiving, scouring all the hottest deals?

No matter which one you are, it is probable that you’re going to have to deal with long lines, grouchy shoppers and busy customer service representatives, who have fifty people waiting on them too.

To add the icing on the cake, this year is a shortened shopping season, meaning consumers will only have four weekends between Thanksgiving and Christmas to buy what they need, as opposed to the five they had last year.

It’s time to put on war paint, but don’t go into battle without reading our holiday shopping tips.

Do your research

Know the holiday’s projected busiest days, and schedule your shopping around it (or try to).

According to What are the busiest days for holiday shopping?:

Black Friday will still lead the way as the single busiest shopping day this holiday season, the company said, in both total retail shopper traffic and sales. The final Saturday before Christmas, known as “Super Saturday” (Dec. 21), will be the second-strongest shopping day of the season, followed by Dec. 22, Dec. 20 and Dec. 23.

Black Saturday, the day after Black Friday, will likely rank sixth in shopper traffic and eighth in sales.

Bring Snacks

It’s perfect that huge bags are in style for the holidays. Now, you can load your bag with a water bottle and a few snacks. This will keep you out of lines you don’t need to be in (like the Mrs. Fields’ one).

Dress appropriately

Holiday shopping is not about looking like you’re ready to go out on a date. It’s about GTD: Getting things done. Put on shoes that are easy to slip on and off, and sport a cute pair of leggings with a plain tee or tank top. This is ideal for trying on clothes and being comfortable.

Shop smart

Don’t forget about shopping online; especially, on Cyber Monday, which is Nov. 25.
